Medical Assistant

 The Medical Assistant supports Xpress Urgent Care by assisting with administrative and clinical duties at our practices while embodying the mission of the organization. The role of each Medical Assistant is to be responsible for obtaining accurate patient records and test results, coordinating daily administrative and clinical tasks, preparing and sterilizing treatment rooms for examinations, providing exemplary customer service, and assisting our providers.

A. Essential Duties

  • Obtaining and recording accurate patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Ensure every day all related reports, labs and documents are filed and available in the patient’s medical chart prior to their visit.
  • Coordinating the daily administrative and clinical activities, including scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and patient medical record maintenance.
  • Preparing and sterilizing treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assisting the provider with medical procedures and other patient care.
  • Prepare patient charts before the patient visit.
  • Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required, and maintain tidiness.
  • Delivering compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
  • Ensuring compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Preparing and administering medications for patients as directed by providers.
  • Perform phlebotomy and vaccination as directed by providers.
  • Accompany patients to exam rooms while actively listening to the chief complaint or reasoning for visit, triage the patient by measuring vital signs, including weight, height, BMI, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, asking reason for visit with the provider, and accurately document all information in the patient’s chart.
  • Communicate detailed instructions to patients as instructed by the provider while allowing time for patient to ask questions.
  • Answer telephone and emails to provide detailed feedback while answering any patient/physician/pharmacy questions.
  • Complete and document all pending telephone encounters, documents, labs into patient chart no later than end of business the following day.
  • Faxes, voicemails, and emails must be checked throughout the day, at least three (3) times.
  • Exercise time management by communicating to providers messages from patients and/or staff in a timely manner.
  • Enter accurate CPT and ICD-10 codes in the patient’s chart related to quality measures and procedures.
  • Proficiency and accuracy working within electronic medical records and navigation of vendor portals.
  • Comply with Quality Preventive Measures for all patients.
  • Maintain precise logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc. ) every day.
  • Fulfill all other duties as assigned by clinical coordinator, practice administrator or management.
  • Assist providers in exam rooms as required.

B. Additional Duties:

• Assists and covers other staff when necessary to maintain high productivity and efficiency in the department

• As the company continues to grow, additional responsibilities that are essential for the department to be successful will be assigned accordingly.

Office Manager

 The Office Manager supports Xpress Urgent Care by ensuring good business practices and excellent customer service are being upheld while the clinicians focus on providing exemplary health care to patients. The role of the Office Manager position is to supervise office activities, including but not limited to the reception area, mail, co-payments, workforce scheduling, patient relations, and inventory of the facility. The Office Manager is also responsible for directing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of their office, including developing and administering processes which will increase efficiency and maximum engagement.

A. Essential Duties

1. Manage and supervise the office staff to ensure all forms of communications remain professional, both internally and externally. Emphasizing exceptional customer service.
2. Supervise patient scheduling, registration, data entry and processing, cash posting and cash reconciliation.
3. Manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations and overall administrative activities of the office.
4. Promoting excellent customer service by all levels of the staff.
5. Develops, implements, and maintains office policies and procedures.
6. Supervise the maintenance of office areas and equipment, as well as layout, arrangement and housekeeping of office facilities.
7. Keep an active inventory of all supplies while proactively ordering supplies when inventory is low.
8. Administers and conducts performance evaluation in a timely manner.
9. Coordinates staff meetings for administrative and clinical staff.
10. Maintains and manages all patient information is accurately entered into the EMR system.
11. Ensures patient satisfaction, including troubleshooting when there is a complaint and developing process improvements to prevent recurrences.
12. Ensures regulatory compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, labor laws, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
13. Coordinates logistics for internal and external meetings.
14. Ensures staffing is appropriate for day to day operations.
15. Hire, train, coach, help develop and discipline staff unbiasedly.
16. Remain current with all communication from supervisors.

17. Market/promote office- Community Events and grassroots marketing

B. Additional Duties

Port Saint Lucie & kissimmee

APRN

An Xpress Nurse Practitioner is a quality oriented, emergency driven, and clinical care provider to care for our patients seeking urgent care services. This candidate exercises considerable independent judgment, recognizing and responding promptly to emergencies. Xpress has an immediate opening for a full-time nurse practitioner. Duties include, but are not limited to:Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for working together with clinic staff to ensure quality oriented, emergency driven, and clinical care provider to care for our patients seeking urgent care services.  
  • Provides appropriate, efficient, and effective clinical medical care required for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of human disease and injury.
  • Reviews the Electronic Medical Records system (e-CW) patient’s records to get patients medical history.
  • Document accurately patient's visit including medical history, physical exam, diagnoses, and plan of action.
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages, for a wide range of conditions, from sinus and respiratory infections to wounds and broken bones.
  • Orders or administers tests, x-rays, electrocardiogram, and other diagnostic procedures, accordingly to the nature of the patient’s illness or urgent needs.
  • Determines and prescribes medication, dosage, and schedule given the patient's condition and allergies.
  • Respond timely to requests and inquiries from patients in person and over the telephone, as needed.
  • Conducts physical examinations to provide information needed for admission to school, consideration for jobs, or eligibility for insurance coverage, among other physicals.
  • Will actively participate in the enhancement of patient satisfaction advising them on how to improve their health condition and encouraging them for a follow up visit.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality and impartiality and is responsible for maintaining and respecting the confidentiality of patients always adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations. Exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive, complex, and confidential patient issues and situations.

Radiology Technician

The Radiology Technician supports Xpress Urgent Care by using imaging machines and tools to create a map of a patient’s internal tissues and organ systems to assess their overall health. The role of each Radiology Technician is to explain procedures to patients, calibrate imagining equipment, prepare results, and assist in the administrative and clinical functions of the clinic while embodying the mission of the organization.A. Essential Duties

  • Follow instructions from Physicians regarding which area of the patient’s body needs imaging.
  • Correctly position the patient, adjust the imaging equipment to the specified position.
  • Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure both to themselves and to the patient.
  • Follow correct techniques and procedures such as patient shielding.
  • Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs and placing orders.
